G+ As a Blogging Platform: Follow Up

A couple weeks ago, I impulsively decided I would write my daily post in G+. The inspiration struck me when I noticed that Floyd May’s post was very well placed in a Google search involving a few keywords in his post…the morning after he posted it.

I was amazed at this SEO magic, and thought I would try to improve the visibility of my posts in the same way. Unfortunately, I discovered it isn’t that simple.

Apparently, Google will prefer G+ posts that it thinks you’ll care about. The bad news is, searching in an incognito window strips away the G+ post SEO magic leaving your post in the same anonymity you had before :(.

However, if you are a WordPress blogger (like me) there are ready solutions for extending the reach of your writing. I came across this article describing a plugin and methodology in WordPress for boosting SEO results. I’m excited to try it out in the coming weeks. I’ll be sure to let you know how it works out.
